So Very Moving!

By cclr | Published December 27, 2006

With a nod to new beginnings while still maintaining the relationships that you cherish, we’re leaving our much beloved practice space / recording studio in Allston for new digs in Deep, Dark Dungeon, Mass.  We’re excited but sad because we really liked our old, cramped space.  Andy Abrahamson invited us to move in to the studio somewhere in 2003 (Was it ’04? No one keeps good books in this band) in the middle of recording “I’ll Be Out All Night,” which we were doing with him.  We loved (and continue to love) Andy and moving in was such a huge opportunity for us and a big step forward for us at the time.  We’ve had a lot of 7am, just back from New York load outs up those steps, and we will really truly miss it.  We recorded about half of the new album there and will finish it up at the new space sometime, we pray, in ’07.  Andy, meanwhile, is busting his ass to get things back up and running.  We’re kicking things off at the new space in early January, working on a project that we’ll tell you about as soon as it’s finished (we believe in jinxes).  Our sincerest hope is to have something with some new music out really soon.  We’ll keep you updated on that as well as share some pictures from the set-up of the new space.  Meanwhile, here are few from our old one.  We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.

Vince, Jon, and Chris.

We’re in Hoboken, NJ, this Saturday the 14th with Jennifer O’Connor and Portastatic!

By cclr | Published October 12, 2006

Hello,

We’re playing this coming Saturday (the 14th) at Maxwell’s in beautiful Hoboken, NJ. We look forward to sharing the bill for the first time in a while (at least it seems like it) with our good friend Jennifer O’Connor and with Portastatic. Both have really great new albums out. We’re first of three. Maxwell’s is an incredible place to see live music and is a great place to get dinner, to boot, so get a hotel, make the long drive, and make your way out to the rock show! This is going to be a great night.

Also, we had some cool posters made for the show and we have a few left over at the lovely ol’ practice space. If you’d like one, send an email to all@choochoolarouge.com and we’ll put one in the mail.

New recordings are coming along and to us, they bristle with the energy of the spirit of the radio. “Under the Icy Moon” is on our MySpace page for preview.

Hope to see you soon,

Mercury Lounge

By cclr | Published July 21, 2006

We’re really excited to be playing at the Mercury Lounge in New York this coming Sunday (the 23rd). It’s a little late to be telling you all this but if you’re anywhere near New York and can make it out, please do. The Mercury is an incredibly nice place to both perform and to see a show and we’re honored to be playing there. We’re on at 9, with Strega at 8 and Jennifer O’Connor at 10. For real.
