Andy has been slaving night and day all week getting the studio ready for Saturday. I’ve only been working nights, and Vinnie got to see the studio in person for the first time Monday, and showed off his drywalling skills. We’re 95% ready to roll tape! We started framing the wall and door to seal us off from the rest of the basement. After the weekend we’ll build an inner wall and door for better isolation.
The second part of the wall without the door is finished, two layers thick with insulation between, just some final cracks to seal.
After some clean up and setting up shelves we got the equipment set up, and I checked the wiring and tested the tape deck.The corner is filled with bagged insulation for sound control. We’ll make it look better later, we promise.
We threw most of Andy’s equipment on shelves and brought in a small army of amps, so we’re just about ready for Saturday. After that recording we’ll continue improving the studio and post updates whenever something looks good.
